It is in the single digits here in my little winter wonderland; combined with the wind chill factor, it is somewhere in the negative twenties. Snow is all about, making everything crisp and clean. The house is smelling of a warming soup and there is a frozen coffee in my hand.
Yes you read that right. A frozen coffee. On Purpose.
You see, I recently returned from our holiday trip to see family in my very tropical home state. Winter there consists of fresh orange juice, bare feet, and chilly days being in the 70s. Almost as quickly as I could unbundle myself, I was bombarded with the question of did I remember where I came from . All these recent posts about warm drinks for cold nights started to make them feel a bit slighted. After all, who needs a warm drink when you can swim on Christmas?!
So, my fellow Floridians this one is for you…
- 6 Frozen Coffee Cubes
- 1 ½ Cup Milk of choice (I used 2% organic)
- 1 Tablespoon agave
- 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- Combine everything in a high powered blender.
- Mix on high for 1-2 minutes, or until blended.
- Pour and enjoy!
Note: I love this little drink and freeze leftover coffee in ice cube trays and store them in the freezer.
